Artistic Finishes for just about any surface you can imagine.
About the Artist:
Tamra Alexander Cook is a decorative artist located on the Central Coast of California. She works with a variety of mediums and loves to create beautiful works of art on virtually any surface. She designs and produces treatments for walls, ceilings, mirrors and glass, doors, stove hoods, furniture and more. Tamra's passion is making the ordinary extraordinary whether it be a simple piece of furniture made to look like a Rococo antique or a small mural or embellishment in your home or office that when you see it, it brings you joy.
Growing up surrounded by a large family of creative and artistic family members Tamra always had a passion for art and constantly found time to paint and create works of art around her "day job". In 2006 she ditched the corporate life and decided to make her passion her day job. Studying under different master artisans all over the US she is constantly striving to hone her skills and deliver works of art that bring people joy. In 2012 she opened her own Boutique studio to create much of her work in and allow others to easily come consult and see the unlmited options available to them to beautify their space whether it be large or small.
While she is well accomplished in a variety of faux finishes her true passion iis old world style furniture, cabinetry and her mirror and glass work. She loves to transform ordinary pieces of furniture into aged, gilded, European style pieces. With a wide array of European finishes and years of working with varyng mediums and techniques, she is able to create pieces that truly look centuries old.s\\
Murals and faux finishes are most accurately priced via an in-studio or in-home consultation. During that time we will discuss your project in detail so that you have an accurate picture of what your project will cost and how long the project will take to complete.
The cost of these projects is determined by several factors, including but not limited to, location, cost of materials, intricacy of design, and working conditions.
Prices vary due to the intricacy of design and level of difficulty. Working conditions can affect the price, such as restricted working hours, vaulted ceilings, tight spaces, and driving time and distance. Pricing includes all materials; however if your project requires special equipment or materials (such as scaffolding), these costs will be added to price of the project.
I have a large stock of sample boards for you to look through. If the colors and techniques of the sample boards that I have on hand do not reflect your ideas for your project, I am happy to create sample boards using the colors and techniques of your choice. Most faux materials cannot be purchased in small quantities. For this reason, I have a nominal charge for sample boards. Half of the cost of the sample boards will then be credited towards the balance of the job, if contracted.
Once the details of your project have been defined and we have agreed on price, a contract will be presented which lays out the details of your project as well as the start date.
Upon signing of the contract a 50% deposit will be required to officially reserve calendar dates for your project. This deposit secures your spot on Alexander Cook's calendar and is used to purchase the materials required to complete your project.
The remaining balance will be due the day that your project is completed. Payment in full is expected at this time.
